in this video I'm going to give you a quick tutorial on how
I turn PDF files into booklets
so I can read them on the train anything I want to do make notes in the margins Create Booklets From PDF Files !!! that sort of thing
this is just a simple um simple
booklet be printed on both sides that the page stapled on the middle and
folded in half
nothin fancy and I use a free program that I got next
its a.m. it's a program that I have a free
limited version up it makes little watermark imprint on the site if:
cheapest place to order prints your first page after you a process a PDF file
but Tom it works and if you wanna greater thinks about
bucks
to get the the full version but first let's find a file
usually I look for something when I do booklets
its use them about
or
pages
am is the break point before that
the book becomes too thick to bind this way so
I am treasure look for something 35 pages or less--
but that really depends on the thickness at the paper use so if you use
a nom a thin page
com a lightweight paper you can get away with more pages than
vanity is a
heavier paper Republican be down around fifteen or twenty pages
in your book but before it gets too fat so
I am company just regular bond paper so anything up to about
pages is good
I get the subtle short PDF file
am that was downloaded from our website and will use that as our example
and some right click on it and open it with
cue PDF Pro that's the the software that I downloaded
get at them pop open here shrink this town sequence the
the interface this is coming with hard to read
so shrunk down but think go to work it out
am key PDF Pro
is stand along very easy to use pretty straightforward so I will get right to
it here they've got a little booklet icon right up here so you can see we've
got a
up PDF file and just look for page you can see it's already got pretty good
margins all the way around it
am so I will go straight into the
booklet tool that brings up this popup window
and here's the settings that I use um first thing that I do
special if there's good margins om already set on the document as I said on
the margins
you wanna do this so that Chara
your mom conversion here doesn't add even more margin because if there's a
margin there already
and you've got additional margin set you may end up with some
very small text in the middle of page with a lot margin white space rounded
the next thing that I tend to do in this is optional is
Tom I turn of proportionality
setting nance set change the scale
to I am specified
and now I'm using American
page dimensions here and the
at the US Space Mountain sorry half by
so few turn that sideways and fold it
in half that gives you a five and a half inch
page wide by half-inch tall so I use those settings not
this may cause depending on the the original dimensions a
PDF out this maze cause some stretching I'm as the
the document to stretch to fill the page whether or not you want to
to do this or not it's is
to could be a judgment call sometimes that stretching can be pretty obnoxious
and hard mix to text hard to read
but paper for that to having a huge chunk white space at the bottom of the
page if
yeah the page dimensions don't line up exactly cell
the judgment call but I tend to use the settings right here
now that the binding type: by default if you leave it like this
it will create a book with so whilst it will impose the pages as well
printers call it whilst shop for the pages around so that when all the pages
are stacked together
stable the middle and fold it in half everything will read
up front back in the right order you can also
up printout larger books
and for that you would use the book setting
and when you do that it asks you how many sheets per fold
am so basically you can create what's called a signature which is a group of
pages stapled together
bound together down the middle and folded in half
up sometimes I do this and I print one cheaper fault so basically appreciate
folds in half and creates four pages
um front to back and then you can stack about us together along the edge
create a buck now but for our purposes here which can use the normal binding
type:
which is going to create a booklet where everything is resorted
so that that the pages stack up in stable in the middle
and once you got the settings together thats
basically all there is to it just click OK
and a few seconds here you see that's shuffle the pages now the pages
twice as wide am you can see with
got not pretty good dimensions all the way around them in the margins
so it's not to there's not a lot of extra white space at the bottom so the
pages
a.m. and thing on the list
created this watermark right here automatically and there's
and one only one thing you can do to get rid of that is too pay for the full
upgrade to Q PDF
up but that's not zoom in here just a little bit
its immature fish page numbers in this document now they're not but you can see
if you read through this the pages have been
sorted out that if you print them front and back on a sheet of paper
hmmm when you're done you'll have a stack pages
that could be stapleton middle and folded in half not really others to it
to print it out just a quick file- print
if you're using a printer like mine where I don't have fun duplex printing
where the
printer will automatically two fronts and backs in one pass
am the way you want and what he is
select print all and then choose odd pages on the first
run that through but the stack over
and then select even pages for the second past animal basically
pretty odd pages on one side and the man pages on the other
and you had a complete booklet so that's really all there is to it
nothing fancy but to a really great way to get
e-books of your computer and into your hand where you can now
take them away read them outside on the bus on the train
make notes what have you so i hope u
enjoy that hope thats a helpful want it for you
take care *** ***
